First: get to Broxburn
I once had a guest who came by bike from Holland. If you come by bike, car, or other means, please make your own arrangements. I will assume that you are landing at Edinburgh Airport and provide basic information about public transport, which is currently excellent.
Every hour, the Citylink 902 bus connects Alberto’s point-to-point to:
- Edinburgh Airport Terminal
- Haymarket train station
- Edinburgh city centre
- The Centre Livingston
- Glasgow city centre
The name of the stop is Broxburn – Cardross Road.
Edinburgh can also be reached by Lothian Buses route X18, which runs every 30 minutes and can be taken from Broxburn – Cardross Road. The stop is not mentioned in the timetable because it only lists the main stops, and stops are on request.
The nearest train station is Uphall which is 1.6 miles away. It is also connected by bus.
If you leave Alberto’s very early in the morning (before 5 am) to get to the airport, you can take the X18 bus. However, while X18 passes close to the airport, it does not enter the airport area. You can walk the last mile or take another bus or tram from Edinburgh. You could also call a taxi, however, I am unable to recommend any particular company. Based on my experience, it is quite easy to find an Uber service too.
If you exit the airport after midnight and all buses have gone, you will find taxis from the airport, or you can use Uber. If you are on a budget and don’t have much luggage, you could walk down Ingliston Road to Glasgow Road and call Uber from there. However, please note that checking in at Alberto’s after 11 pm must be arranged and will incur an additional charge. I once had a guest who walked from the airport, however when she arrived she had no trouble falling asleep.
Bus tickets can also be purchased on the bus with a contactless card. Cash payment is not recommended because change is usually not given.
Don’t expect a driver to know where Alberto’s is. Simply get off at the right stop or help yourself with Google Maps. If you are within the area corresponding to postcode EH52 5JX, you’ve arrived.

Second: locate what you see in the image below
Address: 4b Goschen Place, Broxburn EH52 5JX
The building is exactly opposite Tony’s Cucina.
The flat is on the ground floor, on the right. There are three trees in front of it.
Enter the main door to the building, which is the black one in the above image. Usually the door is unlocked. In the unlikely event that it was locked, please get in touch for further instructions.
